Explanation of Active Version of Accessibility Symbol

The standard accessibility symbol has been around for many decades, I but I thought it seemed it bit too passive. I saw new symbols on the internet. My problem with all of them, is that they seem too different from the original to intuitively convey as a replacement as an accessibility symbol. The one symbol that leads as the new active substitute seems too athletic. The symbol seems more like an able-body person using a wheelchair for mechanical advantage.

I wanted to make a symbol based on the classic symbol while convey how many (not all) wheelchair users operate in daily life. The symbol doesn’t solve the problem representing the wide range of disabilities that exist, but it does solve one the biggest problems that people with disabilities face, the stigma of assuming that all people with disabilities are inactive and helpless. Some are, but most are not. My symbol represents the idea that most people with disabilities do have some limitations (paralyzed legs), but utilize what they can do to manage their limitations.
